Single-bit or Multi-bit RAID ECC errors when booting Cognito

Cognito brains utilize a RAID controller within their storage subsystem.  As with any device with DRAM, Occasionally the controller's onboard memory will encounter errors such as the following.

Individual single-bit errors are not concerning and will be recovered in hardware by the RAID controller.  Persistent single-bit errors, multi-bit errors or any indication of hardware instability are concerning.  In these cases we highly recommend that you power off the unit and contact Vectra support to coordinate an RMA.

This will help minimize the chance of significant data loss due to corruption on the drives.

As always, if you have concerns or questions about your Cognito appliance, please contact Vectra support and we'll be happy to help.
